Dominic LaFrancesca (Sigma Class)

Year Joined: Fall 2016
Majors: EMF (Radio/Audio) & Music (Jazz/Commercial Composition)
Graduating Class: Spring 2018
Big: Corey Johnson
Personal Accounts: SoundCloud - https://soundcloud.com/von_streusselini
Professional Experience: Theory/Performance instructor (for keyboard, guitar, bass, drums & vocals) at the Stone House Jam Academy in Bel Air, MD. Disc jockey for 91.1 FM WHFC’s Reelin’ in the Years & Crossroads segments. Musical Director for the John Carroll School’s Summer Tidewater Youth Camps, and the Harford Community College Actors Guild. Improvisational actor for Baltimore’s Murder Mystery Company.
Bio: By age 14, comedy & playing drums were the only things I ever cared about – I figured if there was a government lab-generated Larry David/Carl Palmer composite, it would probably be in my best interest to follow in its (hopelessly disproportioned) footsteps. That is until I realized drummers don’t get to (normally) write songs, and actors don’t (normally) get to write movies. I never stopped playing drums or acting, but this awakening led me to immediately learn how to play piano, and understand the fundamentals of theory/tonality/texture. Von Streusselini is the name I go by on SoundCloud, where you can find my latest musical efforts. A huge part of joining LKT was to embellish some of the finer points of cinematography, which I knew I could learn from this group. Huge influences include are not limited to Andy Kaufman, Stanley Kubrick, Eric Andre, Captain Beefheart, The Coen Brothers, George Carlin, Tim & Eric, David Lynch and Frank Zappa – who infamously phrased a widely-acclaimed theory as a reworked conditional sentence: “Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible.” – FZ.
Upcoming Projects:
Incident Report: Suspense/thriller by Creamed Productions. Sound design by Dominic LaFrancesca.
The Art of Apathy: A comedy-rock opera in two acts; a 245-page libretto with 35 original songs, written for a 12-piece pit orchestra. Book/Music written by Dominic LaFrancesca & Ben Hill.
Slugs (The Knave and the Pastor): An experimental short-film with script/score written by Dominic LaFrancesca.
